Tasting Guidelines

Group tastings that are published are conducted as per the host for the evening. Typically, 5-8 wines are tasted blind (and glasses are often switched to ensure you don’t know the location of the wine you brought), generally there is a theme (e.g. Loire White), and a rating is given for ‘overall quality’ between 1-10. 1 being, “No, no, never again will I drink this,” 10 being, “break the glass and let me lick it.” The scores posted here will be an average of the group, which will likely depress the rating slightly, but could also be more meaningful. Clear winners and losers will be discussed, as well as any interesting tidbits (e.g. JD and RH banter about the use of terms). Enjoy!
